A Chartered Town Planning and Development Consultancy, established in 1994 and offering a dedicated, professional service nationwide to both the public and private sectors.

CSJ Planning Consultants Ltd comprises CSJ Brooke Smith in Birmingham and CSJ Planning in Bristol. This followed the merger of Brooke Smith Associates and CSJ Planning - two established and highly respected independant planning practices - and allowed the company to further expand its horizon across the UK.

We offer a complete range of planning services including: the preparation of site appraisals, development briefs and land availability studies; the submission of all forms of planning application, appeals and certificates of lawfulness: expertise in enforcement matters, listed buildings and conservation issues: advising with regard to legal agreements: expertise as advocate/expert witness at EIAs and Appeal Inquiries.

In addition to its consultative role, the Practice advises the public and private sectors on current and emerging planning legislation and Government guidance. It prepares training programmes for various groups involved with the built environment. These range from providing a basic introduction to the planning process to presenting seminars on specific technical planning issues.

We retain a strong client base with new clients using our services as a result of an exceptionally high reputation for professionalism, expediency and success. We have a team of 23 professional and magagerial staff across our two offices and regularly find that we can add value to our client's property and landholdings; successfully resolve land use conflicts and provide sound environmental and development advice.
