Our Approach
Many of the principles that underpin our approach to equity growth are based on the first-hand experience of our founder, Paul Collins, gained whilst CEO of the Consulting and IT Services firm, WCI Group plc. Paul takes up the story from when he decided to build equity value in the company:
"WCI (formerly World Class International Ltd) grew from 20 consultants and £4m revenues in 1995 to £63m in sales and 350 staff in 2002 when 30% of the business was sold to a venture capital firm at an enterprise value of £50m. I retired from WCI in June 2004 to start Equiteq so others could benefit from my experiences.”
The phenomenal growth of WCI was no accident. So, how did Paul do it?
“We build robust financial processes that guaranteed financial control of the business and ensured that billable work was converted into cash with minimal delay.
“We built HR processes that attracted and kept the best consultants and we headhunted one of the UK’s first Chartered Marketer’s to build the brand and the marketing processes that would generate warm leads to fuel growth.
“We also employed the latest web-based intra and extranets to embed the wealth of knowledge built up over the years in stone. Our methods, processes, procedures, prospects, case studies, referrals are now real measurable intellectual property (IP) owned by the company that will outlast individuals and build robustness into delivery capability.”
